Community and Industry Advisory Board (CIAB)

To ensure that teaching remains relevant and up to date, the Graduate Environmental Program (GEP) maintains strong links with local and national industry, government and environmental organisations.

Community and Industry Advisory Board (CIAB) forms a bridge between the GEP and real-world trends in environmental research, education, policy and practice. Members represent a variety of interests and areas of expertise; all have a strong commitment to social responsibility and the environment.

Professor John Zillman, AO, Phd
Chair, CIAB, Office for Environemtnal Programs, Director of the Commonwealth Bureau of Meterology, principal delegate of Australia to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

Professor John Lovering, AO, Phd
Chair, Environmental Conservation Council (Victoria), Chair of the Academic Advisory Committee of the GEP and former Vice-Chancellor (Research) at the University of Melbourne.

Professor Barbara Evans, BSc, Phd
Pro-Vice Chancellor, Research Training, University of Melbourne, Professor of Zoology and member of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Comparative Physiology and Biochemistry.

Mr Alex Arbuthnot, AM
Director, Landcare Australia, former President of the Victorian Farmers Federation and graduate of the Dookie Agricultural College (University of Melbourne).

Dr Jane Gilmour, Phd
Former Execuative Director, Earthwatch Institute, Australia and environmental consultant, Member of the Australian National Commission to UNESCO.
