Cross Institutional Study
The Office for Environmental Programs permits postgraduate students to undertake subjects from other institutions of equivalent standing and have them credited to their Graduate Environmental Program. Permission may be granted provided that the student has a sound academic record and the following conditions are met:
- the external subjects topic or focus area is not available via a subject currently taught at the University of Melbourne;
- the subject is of equivalent standard and weighting to subjects available at the University of Melbourne. Subjects must be at postgraduate level;
- the student has a planned program of study that will enable him/her to complete the requirements of the Gradaute Environmental Program course;
- the student has not previously failed a subject taken on a complementary course basis.
A maximum of one quarter of a GEP course and only those subjects meeting the above criteria may be credited toward the GEP.
A request to the OEP must be made by submitting a Complementary Course form, at least 4 weeks before the commencement of the semester in which the subject(s) is taught.
We also recommend that the student concerned make an appointment with their course advisor to discuss any cross institutional subjects that they wish to enrol in.
